Staff: Dr YuWei Lin

Yuwei Lin joined NCeSS in April 2006, having previously worked at the Department of Information Systems at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Her current research interests centre on Science and Technology Studies (STS), virtual communications and virtual communities, usability and user requirement analysis, digital culture (especially in relation to hacker culture and user-participatory culture), Free/Libre Open Source Software (FLOSS) studies, and the cultural and socio-technical dynamics in community-based innovation systems. Her recent work at NCeSS looks at a variety of advanced e-Research technologies including the semantic web, ontology, Web 2.0, text mining, data mining, workflow, e-infrastructure. Her research also seeks to contribute to the development of e-Reseasrch ethics, e-Research methodologise (particularly mixed method research and virtual ethnography).

Information about Yuwei and her research is updated at her personal webpage.
