Organiser

Date and Location
25 May 2005, iLab, Constable Building, University of Essex.
Summary
Health service providers and researchers are increasingly interested in acquiring and joining data sources in order to get a more complete picture of service needs and social phenomena. This opens new challenges regarding patient confidentiality, data security (e.g. when transferred on a network) and secondary use of data.
The workshop used Learning Disabilities as an exemplar with the aim of engaging all parties that are interested in identifying and overcoming obstacles to the service, policy and research usage of joined administrative and clinical data while protecting confidentiality and citizens’ rights.
